Job description

Overview:
Corporate Tools is hiring an SEO Strategist. As an SEO Strategist, your mission is to help our websites rise above the noise and earn real visibility. You'll build data-driven strategies that align with our business goals and connect with real users. That means deep technical audits, identifying content gaps, collaborating with writers, and using data to guide every decision.
You'll work alongside developers, designers, and content creators who are eager to bring your strategies to life. One day, you might be mapping out a new site structure. Next, you're troubleshooting an indexing issue or running A/B tests to improve a conversion funnel. We see SEO as more than just keywords; it's about user experience, business impact, and staying curious.
Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of driving organic growth through both technical and content-driven strategies. You're genuinely curious about how people search, click, and convert online. You know how to diagnose traffic drops, analyze what's working (or not), and clearly explain your thinking to technical and non-technical teammates. You've got the confidence to lead, the humility to listen, and the mindset to test and adapt.
You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full time 40 hour M-F position with company benefits. This is a remote position. Our main office is in Spokane WA, and we have satellite offices in Austin TX and Salt Lake City UT.
Wage:
$65,000/year
Benefits:
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
  • Annual review with raise option
  • 22 days Paid Time Off accrued annually, and 4 holidays
    • After 3 years, PTO increases to 29 days. Employees transition to flexible time off after 5 years with the company-not accrued, not capped, take time off when you want
    • The 4 holidays are: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Up to 6% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
  • Quarterly allowance
    • Use to make your remote work set up more comfortable, for continuing education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for your coworker, a massage for yourself... really, whatever
  • Open concept office with friendly coworkers
  • Creative environment where you can make a difference
  • No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won't cost the company much money because you won't use it
  • Trail Mix Bar oh yeah

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive SEO strategies that align with business goals and industry best practices
  • Conduct in-depth audits to identify technical issues, content gaps, and optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with writers to implement effective on-page SEO across high-impact content
  • Monitor trends in LLM and other AI tool usage to understand user behavior better and shape content strategies that influence model responses
  • Plan and refine website architecture to support long-term SEO success
  • Understand the user journey and ensure that consumer needs and preferences are at the forefront of strategies and plans
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical SEO issues with cross-functional teams
  • Track and analyze key metrics, including rankings, traffic, and conversions
  • Optimize conversion funnels using user behavior insights and A/B testing
  • Stay current on algorithm updates, SEO trends, and best practices
  • Deliver training sessions to upskill internal teams on advanced SEO topics and tools.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in SEO strategy and implementation required
  • Proficiency with a wide variety of SEO tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs)
  • In-depth knowledge of technical SEO, website structure, schema, and content optimization
  • Proficient in reading SEO data and turning it into actionable insight.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure timely and successful execution of SEO initiatives
  • Able to identify opportunities, solve problems, and be willing to jump in and help out
  • Proactive approach to staying on top of industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging SEO best practices
  • Ability to clearly communicate SEO concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You have a track record of driving measurable business growth, and not just rankings.
  • Familiar with SEO efforts revolving around the user rather than a search engine.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and experience working collaboratively with development teams.
  • Strong interest in user behavior around LLMs and other AI tools, with an understanding of what influences their outputs
