Job Title: Web & Mobile Content Developer
Location: Vienna, VA
Work Schedule: hybrid, onsite 3 days per week and remote 2 days per week
Pay Rate: W2 only

Senior Web Content & Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist. This is a long term contracting position located in Vienna, VA. Candidates will work a hybrid schedule (onsite 3 days). We are looking for LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. We are able to work with W2 candidates (no c2c and no 1099).
This role is a Senior Web Content & Search Engine Optimization Specialist focused on maintaining, optimizing, and governing web content for a large financial services organization. It is not a traditional marketing SEO role and not a web developer role. The selected candidate will spend most of their time improving content quality, site health, search visibility, user experience, and content governance within an enterprise CMS environment, particularly Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
This role requires someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in web content management, SEO, CMS administration, and digital content operations, preferably within a regulated financial services industry. Candidates must have at least 5 years of hands on, professional experience with AEM, SEO expertise, enterprise CMS publishing, HTML/CSS, and web content governance.
The Web Content & SEO Specialist will:
  • Maintain and optimize web content across high-traffic websites.
  • Update legacy content and migrate it to newer web components.
  • Improve SEO performance through internal linking, redirects, metadata optimization, and content audits.
  • Monitor site health by identifying broken links, 404 errors, indexing issues, and usability problems.
  • Work within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and other Adobe Experience Cloud tools.
  • Analyze SEO and web analytics data to recommend content improvements.
  • Ensure content complies with brand standards, regulatory requirements, and accessibility/usability best practices.
  • Collaborate with content creators, marketers, designers, and digital teams.
  • Support content governance and quality assurance initiatives.

The Web & Content team is seeking a Web Content and SEO Specialist to support with the maintenance, optimization, and quality control of web and educational content across digital properties. In this six-month contractor role, you will support search engine optimization initiatives by monitoring and resolving technical content issues, including identifying and addressing 404 errors, implementing redirects, auditing and enhancing internal linking opportunities, and helping modernize legacy content through the adoption of newer web components and features. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, an understanding of SEO best practices, experience working within content management systems, and the ability to collaborate with content creators and digital teams to ensure a high-quality, user-friendly web experience.
Responsibilities
• Support the financial education team in updating and validating older web articles with newer components.
• Assist in remapping article content to an updated tagging system.
• Identify and implement internal linking to strengthen SEO signals and improve discoverability of article content.
• Embed syndicated promotion content boxes across similarly themed articles.
• Monitor quality control and site health signals (e.g., broken link reports) and publish solutions (e.g., URL redirects).
• Review recently published content to ensure adherence to search and usability best practices (e.g., proper metadata, semantic markup, anchor text, indexability, alt text, etc.)
• Contribute to monthly SEO and AI search performance research and content recommendations.
• Adhere to standards for brand tone and voice, marketing style guides, regulatory guidelines, content architecture, digital asset management and defined success metrics, as aligned with the Web & Content team's overall strategy and considering the needs and experience of the user first.
• Evaluate, test, edit and optimize digital experiences.
• Support ongoing content governance, optimization and site health initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
• Advanced experience with editing and publishing web content in a content management system (CMS) required.
• Advanced experience with Adobe Experience Cloud (AEC), especially Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
• Advanced understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic web markup languages.
• Advanced experience evaluating web content for search engine optimization.
• Working knowledge of interactive usability best practices and concepts.
• Working knowledge of the financial services environment and associated functions, policies, procedures, products and services.
• Experience in using and interpreting web analytics software (Google or Adobe Analytics).
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
