Job Description

Training Specialist SME:

The Training Specialist SME for Seabee Readiness will serve as the Training Specialist (TS) and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Seabee Readiness Division assigned to the Naval Civil Engineering Corps Officers School (CECOS) at the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) in Port Hueneme, CA.

The TS will review CECOS Seabee Readiness courses to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content and work as part of a team to design, develop, and maintain curriculum and curriculum products in support of CSFE and CECOS. Responsibilities may also include individual production work, such as test development or course updates, and developing workflows using Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to pass a qualifying background investigation to meet eligibility requirements for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC).

This is a full-time, onsite position. Must reside within commutable distance to work onsite at CSFE in Port Hueneme, CA. Position may be eligible for 9/80 flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

Conduct analysis of training and media requirements.

Ensure integrity of task analysis, training requirements, training hierarchies, instructional materials, and evaluation plans.

Design and develop instructional approaches and/or strategies to meet training requirements.

Develop appropriate learning objectives and test methods and design instructionally valid training materials.

Design instructionally sound lessons in a variety of delivery media.

Design and develop computer-based training, web-based training, and other technology-based learning solutions.

Develop flow diagrams and storyboards.

Additional Requirements:

5 years experience or related experience in training system analysis and design.

Broad-spectrum knowledge of all Seabee rates and NCF functional areas and familiarity with NAVFAC and NCF doctrine, programs, and policies, and requirements.

Experience working in the Operations and/or Training Department in a Naval Construction Force unit.

Applicants must be able to manage both people and projects, communicate clearly to maintain highly professional interpersonal relationships, and maintain the delicate balance between duties and responsibilities to both GDIT and the Government.

Education Requirements:

A degree in Education, Instructional Systems Design, Psychology, or other related field is desired but not required.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $70,658 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
