Company Description

Established in 1987, Mid-Tec, Inc. is a general contractor licensed or registered for business in 29 states, primarily in the Midwest and Southern regions of the United States.

Mid-Tec specializes in the food processing industry and our customer list includes companies such as Tyson Foods, Simmons, Butterball, Hillshire, Cargill, Nestle and International Food Ingredients. Most of our customers are repeat customers. Mid-Tec knows that when our customers are successful, we are successful and we take pride in the fact that we continue to do business year after year with the same companies.

Mid-Tec’s founder was a man named Jon Walker. Jon Walker moved to Missouri from Arizona to become a cattle farmer and pursue the great American Dream. Little did he know, that American dream would spiral into a multi-million dollar construction business. After trying his hand at farming for a few years, he decided to start a residential construction company out of his farm house kitchen. Before long, he sought opportunities working in the food processing industry. He quickly realized the benefits of becoming an industrial contractor and specializing in the food processing industry. In 2002, Jon Walker’s son and son-in-law took over the family business and still run it today.

Mid-Tec is also a big supporter of local education, charities and community events. We attend several local career fairs every year and have made a commitment to educate our youth about career possibilities in the construction industry.

Mid-Tec is excited about our future and is optimistic that we will continue to grow as a company and as a community leader.
