Job Description:

TheSenior Technical Product Manager (SDN)is responsible for drivingSDNarchitecture and delivering scalable, production-ready reference designs, includingL4-L7 network services. This role leads crossfunctional efforts to define, document, and validateSDNsolutions that meet stringentperformance, scale, security, and reliabilityrequirements acrossenterprise and service provider environments.

This position works closely withengineering, architecture, field teams, partners, and customersto ensureSDNsolutions are practical, consumable, and deployable at scale. The TPM translates customer needs, operational best practices, and product capabilities into clear, actionable guidance that accelerates adoption and enables operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Architectural Leadership

  • DriveSDNarchitecture strategyand deliver scalablereference architectures, design patterns, and implementation guides, including L4-L7 services such as load balancing, firewalling, NAT, and ADC.
  • Define and documentendtoendSDNsolution designsspanning virtualization platforms, private cloud architectures, and network virtualization stacks.
  • Translate complex distributed systems intoclear diagrams, workflows, and stepbystep deployment patternsfor internal and external consumption.
  • Define and validatenonfunctional requirements, including availability, performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure architectures areproductionready, support advanced network services, and scale acrossonprem, hybrid, and edge environments.

Product Strategy & Execution

  • Lead and drive theendtoend product strategy and operational roadmapfor one or moreSDNrelated products or solution areas.
  • Define thevalue proposition, target customer segments, and business casefor innovative and disruptive networking and virtualization solutions.
  • Synthesize market requirements (MRD) into detailed product and customer guidance, leveraging deep customer insight, industry expertise, and business acumen.
  • Advise key stakeholders onportfolio and lifecycle strategyacross planning, development, launch, management, and endoflife phases.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely withengineering, architecture, sales, marketing, supply chain, and partnersto ensure solutions are technically sound, easy to consume, and aligned with overall product strategy.
  • Drive alignment across the product value chain to optimize margins, enable successful launches, and execute effective gotomarket strategies.
  • Provide technical enablement and productspecific training to field, partners, and internal teams.

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Virtualization Platforms:VMware (vSphere / ESXi), KVM
  • Private Cloud Architectures:Onprem, hybrid, and edge environments
  • SoftwareDefined Networking:
    • VMWare NSX
    • Nutanix Network Virtualization (Nutanix Flow)
  • Networking Fundamentals:
    • Network architecture and design
    • L2-L3 networking concepts
    • Network virtualization
  • Advanced Network Services (L4-L7):Load Balancing, Firewall, NAT, ADC
  • Security:CISSP preferred

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent inComputer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experiencein networking, virtualization, cloud, or infrastructure software.
  • Strong technical understanding of enterprise and service provider networking ecosystems.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert ability tolead and influence crossfunctional teamsin complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Proven strength intechnical decisionmaking, costefficient solution design, and financial performance analysis.
  • Strong business acumen with expertise inproblem identification, rootcause analysis, and structured execution.
  • Ability to bridgedeep technical detail and executivelevel communication, enabling alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
