ROLE: Sr. Project Manager - banking and card experience in Chicago, IL for 12 months contract
Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with solid project management skills, retail and commercial banking experience, exposure to banking environment and comfort with technology integration and data movement. The PM will work closely with line of business leaders, other technology PM's, and internal and external technology suppliers from across North America.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Minimum 7 years Senior Project Management experience; At least 5 years in the Banking Industry - This is preferred but may consider Insurance Background if not quite 5 years.
2. Managed small to medium technology (development) projects for 1 year to 18 months. We want to see candidates with good tenure at their current/previous clients.
3. Prior project management must have been functioning as a technical PM on a SDLC project; we don't want someone who has progressed so far in their career so that they can no longer get their hands dirty and do hands-on project management when required
• Prior project management / PMO experience for projects with budgets in excess of $500,000.
• Strong Leadership skills and a focus on driving projects to completion within budget and time.
• Strong analytical, project budget and forecasting, project management and communication skills. This individual will have very strong excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint skills.
• In depth understanding of SDLC's and the key dependencies within each phase of a methodology. Past experience planning project work activities in a concurrent manner to minimize the overall timeline, avoid sequential activities, and lag time where possible while maintaining quality and reducing risk.
• Ability to create executive summary and communicate with executive leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to "think outside the box".
• Ability to introduce new techniques or metrics to control and monitor costs, risks, progress, and schedule.
• Previous banking experience
*PMP is desired but not required
