Job Description:

Our customer is seeking a skilled SD WAN Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN). This role is crucial for optimizing network performance and enhancing connectivity across various locations. The SD WAN Engineer will be responsible for assisting the customer with the ongoing operation of security infrastructure requirements related to client products. This includes configuration, updates, and support. The engineer will be located at the customer premises and will work closely with the customer personnel and client's support team.

Note: Due to the highly specialized nature of the targeted project a deep knowledge of SDWAN and ADVPN functionalities on the FortiGate firewall platform using the latest mature features is a requirement. This includes familiarity in orchestrating those configurations using FortiManager. FTNT specific SDWAN and ADVPN features are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage SD-WAN solutions to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity.
  • Configure network devices and perform regular system updates.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to understand network needs and provide technical support.
  • Oversee network deployment and maintenance operations.
  • Ensure network security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Preparation, review, and validation of client's product configuration.
  • Development and maintenance of best practice diagnostic procedures to ensure effective operations and maintenance.
  • Problem investigation and resolution in collaboration with the customer's personnel and clients's support team.
  • Network-related testing to verify operation in the customer's environment.
  • Troubleshooting of network issues and acting as a local point of contact for incidents.
  • Assistance on open support tickets with client's support organization.
  • Provision of procedures and requirements for upgrading client's software.
  • Inventory tracking of hardware and software revisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional understanding of SD-WAN and network security.
  • Certifications in FortiGate Firewalls and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with Nexus switch configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Palo Alto and/or Firepower firewalls configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Wireless Controllers and wireless 802.11 troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Spaces, Cisco Routers & Switches, and Cisco DNA.
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot VPNs, perform PCAP & Log Analysis.
  • Experience with Cherwell for problem or project ticket management.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Cisco Collaboration or Webex/Call Manager.
  • Cisco Contract Center configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Cisco Umbrella configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Cisco ThousandEyes configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Viptela (Cisco SD-WAN).
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and IaaS (vendor agnostic).
  • Linux proficiency.
