Cabin Steward/Stewardess for Scylla AG

Founded in Switzerland in 1973, Scylla has been setting the standard in premium river cruising for more than 50 years. Their motto is "Quality, our passion". Today, the company operates more than 40 modern river ships, sailing along the Rhine, Danube, Seine, Rhône, Saône, and many other beautiful rivers across Europe.

As a Cabin Steward/Stewardess, you ensure that every guest enjoys a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment onboard. Your attention to detail, proactive service, and hospitality mindset directly contribute to a memorable guest experience. Beyond housekeeping, you support other departments, assist with luggage, and help maintain a safe and professional atmosphere for both guests and crew.

Conditions:

  • Seasonal work with contracts from March to November renewable each season
  • River ships are located in Europe - closer to home
  • No Safety certificates or Seaman's book required

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning all public areas on board (incl. Crew area).
  • Cleaning Laundry and Store rooms.
  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms on a regular base in compliance with HACCP regulation and company standards.
  • Replacing towels, guest toiletries (amenities, glasses, toilet paper, etc.) if necessary.
  • Check and refill of the mini bar on a daily base.
  • "Turn-down" service on a daily base.
  • Distribution of onboard information material to the staterooms.
  • Reporting technical defects in the staterooms to the Reception.
  • Assistance in the laundry and dish wash depending on the working shift schedule.
  • Assistance in the dish wash adherence to cleanliness and hygienic regulations in compliance with HACCP and Scylla standards.
  • Compliance with the waste concept.
  • Stand by duty as needed.
  • Participation during inventories
  • Careful handling of all provided equipment and inventory.

Requirements:
  • Preferably experienced within the hotel industry and/ or previous river cruise ship experience.
  • Outstanding skills and experience in this role with strong customer focus.
  • Stress resistant, calm under pressure, resilient, team player with positive appearance.
  • Open minded and flexible with high social, interpersonal and cultural competencies.
  • Good English skills (written & verbal), other languages as German is an advantage.
  • Professional attitude and appearance, reliable and hard-working with great team spirit.
  • Must work independently.
  • Being representative of Scylla’s values.
  • Age: min. 18 years old
  • Non-EU nationals will need D type German visa before joining
