Job description

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to guide Agile delivery efforts for a team supporting finance-related business functions in Iowa. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a senior-level candidate who can build strong team practices, foster collaboration across distributed stakeholders, and help newly established Agile teams gain momentum. The role calls for a hands-on facilitator with strong emotional intelligence, deep Jira expertise, and the ability to partner closely with Product Owners while driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Lead Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, to keep delivery organized and effective.
• Coach newly established Agile teams on Scrum principles, team collaboration, and sustainable delivery practices.
• Work closely with the Product Owner to refine priorities, clarify work items, and maintain alignment on sprint goals.
• Use Jira extensively to manage workflows, oversee team boards, track progress, and improve transparency across the delivery lifecycle.
• Guide the team through process improvements and help strengthen Agile maturity through practical leadership and facilitation.
• Support collaboration among team members and partners working across multiple geographic locations.
• Remove delivery obstacles, address team impediments, and create an environment that enables consistent execution.
• Contribute to work associated with increased demand generated by a recent enterprise platform upgrade affecting finance, accounting, and actuarial operations.• 5+ years of Scrum Master experience, including senior-level ownership of Agile team facilitation.
• Certified Scrum Master credential required; additional Agile certifications are a plus.
• Demonstrated success leading newly formed Agile teams and establishing effective team rhythms.
• Strong background in Agile transformation or process improvement within evolving team environments.
• Advanced experience with Jira, including managing boards, workflows, and team reporting.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with Product Owners and collaborate with distributed teams.
• Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, high-EQ approach.
• Experience in annuities or related financial services environments is preferred; familiarity with Amazon Kiro is a plus.
