Job description

Description:

FranConnect is the leading enterprise software provider for franchise and multi-location businesses. For over 25 years, the FranConnect platform has served as the sales, operations, and marketing backbone for over 1,500 brands and 350,000 units worldwide. Our customers include some of the most iconic names in franchising — SPARC/Authentic Brands (Forever 21), Tropical Smoothie Café, Authority Brands, and Papa Johns. Backed by private-equity investor Serent Capital, FranConnect is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, with global offices in Australia, India, Colombia, and Canada.

Where AI-First Innovation Meets People-First Culture

At FranConnect, we believe great companies are built on great cultures — and that future success belongs to organizations willing to take meaningful risks, innovate, and evolve. We’re building a workplace where people are empowered to grow, contribute meaningfully, and embrace the future of work. As part of our AI-first mindset, we encourage employees to stay curious, explore emerging technologies, think creatively, and use AI to work smarter, move faster, and drive greater value.

If you’re looking for a place where your ideas matter, innovation and curiosity are rewarded, and the work you do will help shape the future success for our customers – you have come to the right place!

Overview of Position

FranConnect is looking for a creative, data-curious, and AI-savvy Content Manager/Writer to join our Marketing team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who loves crafting compelling B2B content and is equally excited about using AI tools to scale content production thoughtfully and efficiently. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and energized by the opportunity to blend strong editorial instincts with emerging AI capabilities.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day creation and management of content across multiple formats and channels: blog posts, email campaigns, solution briefs, website copy, video scripts, and more. You won’t just be writing, you’ll be building repeatable, AI-powered content workflows that allow the team to move faster, stay consistent, and produce more without sacrificing quality.

You’re a strong writer with sharp editorial instincts, a working knowledge of SEO, and a genuine enthusiasm for integrating AI into your craft. You understand that AI is a force multiplier, not a replacement for strategic thinking and you know how to strike that balance.

Content Production & Writing

  • Write and edit high-quality, SEO-optimized content across formats including blog posts, solution briefs, website pages, email copy, video scripts, and sales enablement one-pagers.
  • Translate complex product capabilities and franchise industry trends into clear, engaging narratives tailored to FranConnect’s target personas.
  • Repurpose long-form content (webinars, white papers, research reports) into shorter-form assets to maximize content mileage.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all content produced, ensuring alignment with FranConnect’s messaging framework.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in Product, Sales, and Customer Success to extract insights and turn them into compelling content.

AI-Powered Content Workflows

  • Champion AI tools as a core part of your daily workflow. Use AI writing assistants (such as Writer, ChatGPT, or equivalent) to accelerate first drafts, generate content variations, and scale production volume without compromising quality.
  • Build and maintain a library of AI prompts, templates, and content briefs that enable fast, consistent content creation across the team.
  • Develop AI-assisted workflows for recurring content types (e.g., blog post drafts from outlines, email sequences from campaign briefs, social posts from long-form content) to reduce production time while maintaining editorial standards.
  • Stay current on emerging AI content tools and proactively recommend new capabilities that can improve team efficiency or content performance.
  • Integrate AI-generated outputs into an editorial review process that ensures accuracy, brand alignment, and human quality oversight before publication.

Content Calendar & Operations

  • Manage and execute against the editorial content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of content across all active campaigns and channels.
  • Track content in production from brief to publish, flagging risks and proactively resolving bottlenecks.
  • Maintain organized content repositories and asset libraries so that published and in-flight content is easy to find, update, and repurpose.
  • Coordinate with Demand Generation to align content delivery with campaign launch dates, nurture sequences, and event timelines.

SEO & Performance

  • Apply on-page SEO best practices to all written content — keyword integration, meta descriptions, internal linking, LLM and headline optimization.
  • Use tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz to identify content opportunities, track keyword rankings, and inform topic selection.
  • Monitor content performance using Google Analytics and HubSpot; report on traffic, engagement, and content-attributed pipeline metrics on a regular cadence.
  • Use performance data to continuously improve content quality and prioritize what topics and formats to invest in.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Product Marketing team to ensure new product releases, feature updates, and positioning changes are accurately reflected in content.
  • Partner with the Demand Generation team to build content that supports lead generation programs, including landing pages, gated assets, and nurture email series.
  • Support Sales with fresh, up-to-date collateral by turning sales feedback into actionable content updates.
  • Participate in content reviews and contribute editorial feedback on work produced by agency partners or freelancers.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in content writing, content marketing, or a related role in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills — you can write clearly, adapt your voice to different formats, and self-edit with a sharp eye.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI writing tools (Writer, ChatGPT, Jasper, or similar) as a genuine productivity multiplier in day-to-day content work — not just as an experiment.
  • Comfort building and working within structured content workflows, prompt libraries, or AI-assisted production systems.
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and experience applying them in content creation.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot (or equivalent marketing automation platform) and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration instincts — you are comfortable interviewing subject matter experts, incorporating feedback, and working cross-functionally.

Preferred

  • Experience writing for the franchise, multi-unit, or retail operations industry.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, SEMrush/Ahrefs, or Hootsuite.
  • Experience creating content for both mid-market and enterprise B2B audiences.
  • Background in content operations or editorial project management.
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
