Job Summary:

The ERP Project Manager is responsible for the total lifecycle of ERP implementations from project initiation through project completion. This position works closely with analysts and the business to understand and capture the functional needs of the business. The IT Project Manager will provide change leadership and implement best practice solutions regularly. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for end-to-end planning and execution of SAP implementation to include: Project Charter creation/approval, budget monitoring/approval, developing project milestones, organizing project kick-offs, coordination, oversight, and organization of all components within assigned project
  • Conduct discovery and information gathering sessions with business process owners and IT Analysts to define requirements and needs of the business
  • Organize demonstrations and help to facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of recommended solutions and process improvements
  • Organizing IT and business integration testing including ensuring test scripts are written
  • Assist as needed with the implementation of IT solutions, including building test cases, performing unit and integration testing, generating user guides, and providing user training
  • Oversee the master data and variant configuration setup during the implementation
  • Coordinate work, solution, gaps, and issues that exist across areas of SAP (MM, PP, SD, TM, etc.)
  • Ensure cutover activities are planned, organized, and executed with adequate resources. 
  • Manage the work of consultants and external system integrators as necessary
  • Apply change leadership and facilitate negotiations when compromise is required to achieve "best practice" at a division-wide level
  • Solve complex issues that may evolve during the process improvement initiatives by applying applicable problem-solving skills
  • Align customer requirements and ensure projects meets both internal and external needs
  • Coordinate project activities amongst the functional and technical team members, business, and consultants

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical area such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business. Equivalent training and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of SAP related experience working as a Project Manager position or in a similar position
  • PMP Certification is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience with large-scale SAP/ERP implementations

Additional Skills:

  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies (waterfall ASAP, agile, etc.)
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty around projects, must be capable of adapting to changing principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience with applying the KISS principle (keep it simple)
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to operate under pressure with numerous tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex, cross-functional requirements and challenges
  • Commitment to quality and achieving results that are oriented to detail and task completion
  • Effective teamwork skills, across different locations both geographically and technologically
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment for this role align with those of a standard office setting. While performing job duties, the employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as talk and hear. This role may occasionally require lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. 

Travel:

This position may require travel to other Woodgrain locations, expected travel time is 20%.
