Job description


Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Test Strategy/Verification/Automation - 80%
  • Discuss and review system requirement documents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze system specifications and technical requirements.
  • Design and develop comprehensive test plans covering functional, performance, and boundary scenarios. Create traceability matrices aligning test cases with system requirements
  • Establish best verification practices for a new team, consistent with existing practices and tools used by team
  • Validate management interface by testing optical provisioning, alarm, telemetry and software upgrade features over Netconf, CLI and gRPC interfaces. Familiar with SNMP and Rest interfaces
  • Conduct black box testing vertically from SDN based network controller or network element to validate system features, networking functionalities including OSPF, BGP and LLDP, optical system features including EDFA/RAMAN amplifiers, OSC, WSS, OCM and OTDR and OTN features
  • Develop/maintain Python-based automation scripts. Implement CI/CD pipelines for regression testing using Jenkins/Gitlab. Improve test automation coverage using industry's best standard methods.
  • Create test summary report for each release and maintain test case repository
  • Maintain daily sanity tests and run regression tests in each software load. Perform regression testing for software/hardware upgrades.
  • Design new test cases based on customer findings or new feature requests. Retest bug fixes and other sustaining issues from legacy products

Teamwork and Support - 20%
  • Mentoring/Coaching junior verification engineers. Drive automation script reviews and practices across team
  • Collaborate with HW/SW development and system architecture teams to continuously improve product performance, execution efficiency, and development processes.

Education & Experience
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded systems software verification
  • 5+ years of experience in Optical Networking industry (L0 and/or L1 equipment)
  • Experience in automation of northbound interface testing: Netconf/YANG, Restconf, CLI, SNMP.
  • Experience in testing Linux based embedded systems.
  • Experience in Python or other script language for automation test.
  • Experience in network protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, OSPF, BGP, LLDP, RSTP
  • Experience with DWDM optical systems, familiar with EDFA, WSS, OSC, OCM and OTDR
  • Familiarity with Transponder product, familiar with OTN, 100G, 400G, 800G
  • Practical experience across the entire Agile development lifecycle, including continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and collaboration through DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with 3rd party test devices and automation to support complete system testing

Skills
  • Familiar with networking data modeling (Open Config, Yang models etc.) and security protocols
  • Experience in optical networking (ROADM, ILA, OTN) system level features
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English. Experience in cross-site development with global teams.
  • Programming languages: Python. Familiar with VS code environment.
  • The ability to work independently with guidance from supervisor on specific tasks.
  • Able to work and execute on an aggressive schedule
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, dedicated and teamwork oriented

Working Conditions
  • This position is onsite at Horsham, PA location
  • May require occasional off-site meetings or travel
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary
  • Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job
  • May require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate the executive's needs
