Job description

Polar is an U.S.-based manufacturer of analog and power semiconductor devices and sensors.

Proudly located in the Upper Midwest-the birthplace of the supercomputer and beating heart of the automotive industry-Polar Semiconductor is leading the charge in American made semiconductor manufacturing.

SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will join a team of Design Enablement engineers enabling software tools used in the design flow for utilizing Polar PDKs. The position will involve the development, validation and maintenance of Process Design Kits (PDKs), mask processing and design verification services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, QA, maintain and support PDKs with infrastructure for multiple EDA platforms.

  • Developing and supporting physical verification checking scripts (DRC and LVS), PEX, ERC, etc.

  • Supporting internal and external customers.

  • Provide training and support to external customers when working with Polar PDK/DRC/LVS flow.

  • Regression flow to provide quality assurance (QA) flow for testing of PDK, EDA tools and applications.

  • Develop and maintain issues logging database and customer engineering support

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering although MS preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work-experience required.

  • Python, Tcl, SKILL, and object-oriented programming skills are strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in writing Linux shell scripts, C/C++, PERL, and general programming is required.

  • Proficient in both Windows and Linux environments.

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Team oriented spirit and willing to wear multiple hats and eager to learn new skills

  • Hands-on experience of Cadence Assura/PVS and Siemens Calibre tools preferred.

  • Knowledge and/or experience in circuits, solid state, RF, material science and/or semiconductor manufacturing process preferred.

Location: Bloomington, MN preferred, remote possible

Salary: The estimated base salary range for the position is $104,500-$141,500. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job-related experience, skills and level of the position.
