Senior Firmware Engineer โ€“ Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)What you will do
  • Design, develop, and debug firmware for platform assets used in multiple access control scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for firmware testing covering static analysis, unit, integration, and regression testing.
  • Measure and increase test coverage, ensuring edge cases and failure scenarios are emulated.
  • Collaborate with other teams to design and maintain automated hardwareโ€‘inโ€‘theโ€‘loop test hardware for regression testing, including wireless network and sensor behavior.
  • Identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware issues.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, creating detailed test reports and quality metrics to improve firmware quality continuously.
  • Improve the quality, robustness, and rigor of firmware platform code through design and code analysis.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with ARM Cortexโ€‘M series and realโ€‘time operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and C with strong analytical skills for debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read schematics and automate electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, voltmeters).
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and testing frameworks for highโ€‘quality firmware releases.
  • Experience in a collaborative, agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for documenting and conveying complex technical concepts.
  • Passion for developing IoT solutions at the intersection of electronics hardware, mobile applications, and cloud technologies.
  • Preferred: Experience with Wiโ€‘Fi, BLE, Thread protocols, network packet analysis, CI/CD systems, version control, and testโ€‘driven development.
