How does a Script Continuity professional collaborate with the director and other departments during production?

A Script Continuity professional, often called a script supervisor, works closely with the director, camera crew, and actors to ensure that all visual and spoken elements remain consistent across takes and shooting days. They maintain detailed notes on each scene, track props, costumes, and actor positions, and communicate any discrepancies or potential issues to the relevant team members. Their role is crucial for preventing continuity errors and ensuring that the final edited film or show appears seamless to the audience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Script Continuity Supervisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Script Continuity Supervisor, you need meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of film or television production processes, typically gained through experience or formal training in media production. Familiarity with continuity software, script annotation tools, and digital photography equipment is common in this role. Exceptional communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability help navigate on-set changes and collaborate effectively with directors, actors, and crew. These skills ensure visual and narrative consistency throughout a production, preventing costly reshoots and maintaining story coherence.

What is script continuity in film and television production?

Script continuity, often managed by a script supervisor, is the process of ensuring consistency throughout a film or television production. This involves keeping detailed notes on scenes, dialogue, costumes, props, and actor movements to make sure that everything matches from shot to shot, even if scenes are filmed out of order. Script continuity helps avoid mistakes that could distract viewers, such as an actor holding a cup in one hand in one shot and the other hand in the next. It is a crucial role for maintaining the flow and believability of the story.

Job description

Compassionate Care Professional Opportunity

At Caring Network, we're mission-minded people—living out our faith by meeting pregnant and abortion-minded women in crisis with love, compassion, and support. From our grassroots beginnings to today's growing network, we're driven by a shared calling: to glorify Christ, stand for life, and walk alongside women who need hope.

This is more than a job—it's a mission. We are looking for two compassionate, skilled professionals to share a full-time week. This part-time role (2 or 3 days per week) allows you to balance your professional calling with your personal life while making a life-saving impact.

Help women who are considering abortion to reorient their lives toward God and their children by providing medical services, pregnancy education, and decision coaching.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Provide limited OB ultrasounds and run pregnancy/STD tests according to Clinic protocol and SOPs.
  • Patient Advocacy: Provide pregnancy options consultations, guide patients through spiritual assessments, and manage difficult conversations with grace.
  • Medical Support: Take health histories, dispense STD medication per protocol, and provide information via the nursing script.
  • Continuity of Care: Manage follow-up protocols to cultivate long-term relationships and determine the "Next Step" for each patient.
  • Professional Growth: Participate in Quality Assurance, annual ultrasound training, and seek personal growth to eventually train others.
  • Mission Integration: Actively pray for patients and team members; identify and celebrate the organization's Core Values.
Qualifications
  • Faith-Based Commitment: A professing Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active participation in a local church.
  • Life-Affirming Philosophy: Maintains a consistent life-affirming philosophy; will not refer or advise a woman to have an abortion.
  • Licensure: Must maintain a current Illinois Registered Nursing license and BLS certification or an RDMS with OB Registration
  • Skills: Spanish proficiency is a requirement.
  • Alignment: Full agreement with Caring Network's Statements of Faith and Core Values.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Hourly Wage: $32.00 – $38.00 / hour (commensurate with experience).
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends/evenings).
  • Commitment: 2 or 3 days per week (to be coordinated within a Mon-Fri job-share structure).
  • Locations: Position available in Chicago Lawn, IL.
Benefits
  • Pro-rated PTO: Generous vacation and sick time policy.
  • Paid Holidays: 9 paid company holidays PLUS Christmas Break.
  • Culture: A caring, empowering, and mission-driven environment where your work has eternal significance.
  • Full-time Benefits include robust healthcare coverage and a 403(b) with company match
