What is a screen print assistant?

Screen Print Assistants are professionals who support the screen printing process, often working in print shops or manufacturing environments. Their duties typically include preparing materials, setting up and cleaning screens, mixing inks, loading and unloading items onto printing presses, and ensuring quality control throughout production. They work closely with screen print operators to ensure efficient workflow and help maintain equipment. About Us:

We’re Miami Mixed Media — a creative production company proudly rooted in the heart of Miami’s Little River business district. For over 10 years, we’ve built a reputation as one of the city’s most innovative and reliable print and embroidery houses — partnering with brands, artists, and businesses to bring their ideas to life.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a Screen Printing & DTF/DTG Production Specialist with hands-on experience in garment printing, both in traditional and digital formats. This role requires someone who understands production workflows, can operate equipment confidently, and takes pride in delivering clean, consistent, high-quality prints.

You’ll support and operate multiple printing methods, assist with daily production tasks, maintain equipment, and help ensure all jobs run smoothly from start to finish.

This position has a clear advancement path to Lead Printer, Shift Lead, Press Operator, or Production Coordinator for the right candidate with strong skills, consistency, and leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen Printing Responsibilities

  • Assist with setting up and breaking down screen-printing jobs
  • Support press operators with loading/unloading garments
  • Help with ink mixing, labeling, and inventory organization
  • Prepare and maintain screens (coating, reclaiming, cleaning)
  • Perform quality checks and ensure consistency during long runs

DTF / DTG / Digital Production Responsibilities

  • Operate DTF printers, shakers, and heat-press workstations
  • Run DTG printers, pre-treat machines, and curing equipment
  • Troubleshoot print issues such as banding, color inconsistency, and film quality
  • Perform daily maintenance on digital printers
  • Ensure accurate color, placement, and print density across all garments

General Production Support

  • Pack and prepare finished garments accurately
  • Assist with staging, folding, counting, and garment organization
  • Restock inks, chemicals, blanks, and consumables
  • Keep production areas clean, organized, and efficient
  • Use tablets or computers for job tracking (Printavo or similar systems)

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Screen Printing and/or DTF/DTG production required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortably stand for extended periods
  • Detail-oriented with strong quality-control instincts
  • Basic tech skills (tablets, tracking systems, job details)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required

Perks and Benefits:

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Flexible scheduling (day/night/weekend shifts available)
  • Internal training + growth opportunities
  • 401(k) after 1 year
  • Company credit card for commuting/work expenses (after 1 year)
  • Team-building events & company gatherings
  • Exclusive MMM swag
  • Paid vacation, sick days, and holiday pay (after 1 year)
  • Pet-friendly workplace — say hi to Cha Cha & Pelusa

Ready to Join the Team?

If you have experience in garment printing (Screen Printing, DTF, or DTG) and want to grow your craft within a creative, fast-paced production studio — we’d love to meet you.
