Job description

  • Provides customer service assistance to the faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the Jacobs School by serving as an informational resource in the centrally located mailroom.
  • Assists with mass printing/copying services; maintenance of self-service machines (paper, toner, etc.); and shredding of confidential documents.
  • Assists with receiving, logging, and distributing incoming mail and packages (less than 20 lbs.) to JSOM buildings (Practice, Merrill Hall, Musical Arts Center and East Studio Building)
  • Distributes and records general office and classroom supplies to Jacobs School of Music departments, offices, and the East Studio Building workroom.
  • Assist with inventory and online order fulfillment for Marketplace (our merchandise store), and serves as occasional backup for Marketplace kiosk, open during mainstage productions in the Musical Arts Center (primarily weekend evenings).
  • Backup Financial Administration staff as needed.

EDUCATION
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Working Conditions / Demands
This position requires the ability to move around an office/mailroom setting, bend or crouch to reach things at varying levels, lift up to 25 pounds, and to work long periods on a computer, as well as working outside for short periods of time.
Equipment utilized: PC, various software programs, copier/printer, point of sale system.

This is an in-person position.
Advertised Salary
Pay is $15.00 per hour.
Work Hours
Approximately 20 - 25 hours per week, may on occasion be up to 29 hours per week. Schedule needs to be coordinated with other part-time staff to assure coverage.
