Genesis is looking for motivated, dependable Structural Fitter/Welders to join our clients team working on the shop floor. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of on the job experience MIG, TIG, Stick & Flux welding.
Pay: $20/HR - $25/HR
Zip: 77064
Schedule: Monday - Friday - 6 AM - 4:30 PM & Saturday 6 AM - Done (8 hours)
Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of welding and fitting work
  • Measure and mark materials for welding and fitting
  • Set up and operate welding equipment to weld and fit metal components
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality
  • Clean and maintain welding equipment


Required Skills:

  • Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Flux and Stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
  • Familiarity with welding safety procedures and practices
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Welding certification is a plus.


Job Description

  • Work from instructions and prints to arrange parts into welding fixtures, clamp pieces into position and tack weld and/or apply finished weld. Select proper equipment, set voltage and wire feed settings to obtain proper strength and appearance.
  • Handle assorted raw materials, steel parts, and steel scrap.
  • Maintain work area and production equipment in clean and orderly condition.
  • Visually inspect, sort, & receive bar stock, pipe, rod material and welding supplies.
  • Operate small electric/air hand tools.
  • Operate some or all of the following production equipment: welding robot, press brake, spot welder, turret, rivet gun, stud gun, grinder and sander.
  • Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
  • Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.


Work Experience

  • Experience in reading blueprints & schematics (including weld symbols)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production-type environment
  • This is NOT a role for Pipe WELDERS - Only STRUCTURAL WELDERS SHOULD APPLY
