Heavy Haul CDL-A Truck Drivers for Local Scrap Routes - Home Daily

Beacon Recycling

Grand Rapids, MI โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Re-posted 21 days ago

Job description

Description:

Drive With Purpose. Work With Pride. Be Home Every Night.

At Beacon Recycling, you're not just driving - you're helping power a cleaner, more sustainable future. As one of our CDL-A Truck Drivers, you'll haul scrap metal locally using roll-offs, luggers, and maybe even doubles (if you have the endorsement and are interested) while representing a company that values safety, integrity, and hard work. If you're tired of being just another number at a mega-fleet and want to work for a company where your name, and your work, matters, this is your sign to shift gears.

We're looking for reliable, detail-driven drivers who value consistency, efficiency, and doing things the right way every time. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a steady, methodical environment and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. You'll operate out of our Grand Rapids facility, serving nearby customer accounts with routes that get you home daily, Monday through Friday, with early starts and early finishes (5:30am to ~3:30pm). Occasional weekend work may be available.

You're backed by a team that understands the demands of the job and gives you the tools and equipment to succeed. Beacon Recycling isn't just where you work, it's where you belong.

What You'll Do

  • Operate Beacon owned CDLA Trucks to service customer scrap sites and bring material back to Beacon yards for processing.
  • Occasionally run routes with luggers or hook trucks.
  • Optional doubles routes if qualified and interested.
  • Deliver excellent service by maintaining clean trucks, clear communication, and safe driving practices.
  • Support a positive customer experience by reporting feedback or site issues to your manager.
  • Focus on consistency, safety, and timely hauls every single time.

Why Beacon Recycling

  • Home Daily - local routes only, no overnights
  • Early Shift - Start your day early and finish in time to enjoy your afternoon
  • Family-Owned & Operated - We know your name, not just your truck number
  • Stable, Structured Work - Routes are consistent, not chaotic
  • Team That Respects the Trade - Our drivers are the heartbeat of our operations
  • Competitive Pay & Benefits - Health, Dental, Vision, Immediate PTO, 401k with match, and more.
  • Weekly paychecks - Fridays

What You Bring

  • Valid Class A CDL (required)
  • 1+year of commercial driving experience
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions
  • Doubles endorsement is a plus!
  • Current DOT medical card (or ability to get one)
  • Solid understanding of USDOT safety regulations
  • Experience with scrap metal or roll-off trailers is a plus, but we'll train the right person.

About Us:

Established in 1999, Beacon Recycling is a family-owned, Michigan-based company with locations in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Wyoming, and Traverse City. Work Environment

This is a hands-on, indoor-outdoor role. You'll work in all weather conditions, staying active and engaged every day.

READY TO DRIVE FOR SOMETHING BIGGER?

If you're a CDL-A driver who's ready to be part of a purpose-driven tea, we want to hear from you.

    Company Description
