Overview
Scottish Rite for Children is looking for a Graphic Designer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment and understands that great design is equal parts creativity and execution. This role is not for beginners, but for those who have been in the field, worked under pressure and know how to take a project from concept to press without missing a beat. If you're the kind of designer who catches a RGB vs CMYK color space issue before anyone else does and fixes it before it becomes a problem, we want to talk to you. Photography experience is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
This role will play a critical role in shaping how Scottish Rite for Children communicates its brand visually across print, digital and environmental design.
Design & Creative Execution
  • Conceptualize, design and produce high-quality publications, including brochures and collateral for internal and external audiences
  • Create and execute designs for logos, apparel, signage, posters and branded materials always within established and pristine brand standards
  • Develop compelling visual solutions that elevate the organization's voice and expand its reach

Print Production & Vendor Management
  • Prepare press-ready files with precision (bleeds, trims, color profiles, preflight checks)
  • Manage production of large-format materials, ensuring accuracy in scale, resolution, substrate selection and finishing specifications
  • Work directly with printers and promotional vendors to ensure accurate execution of all deliverables
  • Review and approve physical and digital proofs, making corrections with a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Oversee projects through final production, delivery and quality assurance

Project Ownership & Workflow Management
  • Initiate and manage incoming design projects within project management software
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders, ensuring visibility into timelines and progress
  • Schedule and lead client preview checkpoints to keep projects aligned and on deadline
  • Monitor timelines, budgets and deliverables and be sure to escalate issues early and effectively

Event & Campaign Support
  • Design and produce event materials including posters, displays and environmental graphics
  • Execute large-format projects from concept through installation-ready production, coordinating specifications for size, materials and placement
  • Ensure all banner and poster files are optimized for large-format output, including proper scaling, resolution (DPI), bleed and color accuracy across various materials and display environments

Digital & Presentation Design
  • Provide digital design support including:
    • Photo retouching and enhancement
    • File conversion and optimization
    • Basic animation and web-ready assets
  • Create polished, on-brand PowerPoint and presentation materials

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as graphic designer, ensuring consistency, quality control and adherence to best practices
  • Mentor and collaborate with other designers in production efficiency, time management and client service and also with Communications team members to support campaigns that advance the organization's mission

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • This role requires someone who has already proven themselves in a professional design environment.
  • 5+ years of professional graphic design experience in an in-house, agency or production-heavy environment (internships and freelance-only experience will not meet this requirement)
  • Demonstrated expertise in print production workflows and vendor coordination
  • A portfolio showcasing real-world, produced work (not just conceptual or student projects)
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Confidence using project management and delivery programs (Basecamp, Smartsheet, Brandfolder)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, which means your files are clean, organized and error-free
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color and brand systems
  • Confidence working directly with vendors, stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Capable of taking a project from an idea to a delivered product
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet firm deadlines
  • Experience with photography and photo direction (shooting or editing)
  • Familiarity with environmental graphics or large-format printing
