Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Prince George, VA | $25–$45/hour + Weekly Production Incentive

Service Center Metals (SCM), a leader in the aluminum industry, is hiring Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians for our Prince George, VA manufacturing facility.

This is a multi-craft maintenance position. Our technicians work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, fabrication, and other maintenance disciplines.

You do not need to be an expert in every trade. We are looking for experienced maintenance professionals who are strong in one or more areas and are willing to cross-train and develop their skills across all maintenance trades.

Compensation & Schedule

  • $25–$45/hour, based on experience and skill level
  • Weekly production incentive averaging approximately $5/hour
  • Steady day shift OR steady night shift — no day/night rotation
  • 2-2-3 schedule — work only 7 days every two weeks
  • Off every other weekend
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Night shift differential

What You'll Do

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep our manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently.

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment problems
  • Maintain and repair motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and other industrial equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed
  • Assist with equipment installation and upgrades
  • Work with Maintenance and Operations to minimize equipment downtime
  • Cross-train in multiple maintenance trades and continue developing your technical skills

 

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance or related skilled-trades experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with industrial machinery or heavy equipment
  • Experience in one or more areas such as:
    • Mechanical maintenance
    • Industrial electrical
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Motors and motor controls
    • Gearboxes and power transmission
    • Welding and fabrication
    • Industrial equipment troubleshooting
    • Preventive maintenance
  • Ability and willingness to learn and work across multiple maintenance trades
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or GED required

 

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on industrial position. Employees must be able to:

  • Regularly lift 20–50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Bend, reach, stoop, and work around industrial equipment
  • Work in hot and cold manufacturing environments, including areas that may reach approximately 120°F
