LOCATION: Central Elementary School in Larchmont, NY

PAY: $66,000 to $70,000 annually

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:45 am-2:30 pm

JOB STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt

Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 4–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the Creative Curriculum, Foundations, and Heggerty with fidelity, and participate in all required district training.
  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, inclusive instruction aligned with NYS Early Learning Standards.
  • Support early literacy, numeracy, language development, and social-emotional learning through play-based, child-centered instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
  • Conduct assessments, document student progress, and maintain ongoing communication with families.
  • Build strong, culturally responsive relationships with families and support UPK engagement efforts.
  • Collaborate with your co-teacher, assistants, and support staff to maintain a high-quality ECERS-3 aligned classroom environment.
  • Participate in professional development, coaching, and program evaluation.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid NYS Early Childhood Teaching Certification (Birth–2, N–6, or Pre-K–6), or a Bachelor’s degree with an approved 5-Year Plan
  • Special Education Certification preferred for teaching in a Special Class in an Integrated Setting
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with preschool-age children in inclusive or integrated settings
  • Experience supporting multilingual learners preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a co-teaching team

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
  • Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
