General Description
The Student Success Center at SUNY Niagara is seeking a graduate intern who is eager to gain hands-on experience in academic advising and registration. This internship will provide students with exposure to a broad range of student support services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Working closely with a team of Student Success Coaches, the Career & Transfer Coordinator and the Registration Coordinator The selected intern will have an excellent opportunity to explore the profession further. This position will be supervised by the Registration Coordinator.

The Student Success Center (SSC) is committed to providing continuing students at SUNY Niagara the necessary support services to successfully achieve their personal and academic goals. This internship opportunity is available for this Summer as well as the Fall 2025 semester.
Typical Work Activities

• Receive one-on-one training regarding advisement and registration functions
• Exposure to a wide range of student populations (new, transfer, readmit, and continuing)
• Participate in SSC events such as registration sessions, Welcome Week tabling, career fairs, open house, orientation, etc. (These vary depending on the semester/time frame of the internship)
• Support students by connecting them with other offices on campus
• Gain familiarity with various software such as Banner Web and Degree Works
• Conduct outreach to registration-ready students
• Additional opportunities may be available depending on a student's background, interests, and skills

Essential Functions
Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a graduate program in student personnel administration or higher education/student affairs administration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred
• Candidates must have a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
