Overview
The Product Data Scientist works with the product team to provide an impact by leveraging data and analytical tools, strategic thinking, and hypothesis-based analysis on diverse product and market data sources. The Product Data Scientist is responsible for modeling complex business problems through statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. Further, they will support senior leadership by creating business insights, reports, and analyses to aid in the decision-making processes and shape the way ISACA's products are measured. The outputs of this role will assist in developing strategies, evaluating initiatives, and defining and tracking KPIs - leading the way for high-quality, data-driven decisions to be made by the product team. Their input will be essential to decision making for product and initiatives that the team creates by helping define the way performance is measured and what questions we should be asking. This role will work closely with not only the product team, but also IT, Finance, Operations, and other departments.
Responsibilities
Reporting & Analytics
  • Performs large-scale experimentation and builds data-driven models to answer business questions from structured and unstructured data sets
  • Proactively mines internal and external data sources to identify trends, patterns, and generate insights into business units and senior leadership
  • Performs experimentation to identify hidden relationships between variables in datasets
  • Research and implement cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence to make data analysis more efficient
  • Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualization techniques to various data.
  • Supporting the product team with analytics throughout the development process, from high-level product roadmap prioritization to post-launch review
  • Overall, provide a detail-oriented, impact-oriented, customer-centric approach to data analysis
Discovery & Insights
  • Design and conduct data analysis on ISACA's products and relevant markets, providing deeper insights and enabling the organization to refine budgets, forecasts, and segmentation.
  • Dive deep into data and provide insights and recommendations to drive product innovation, define product goals, and ensure product goals and forecasts can be met or exceeded.
  • Research and report on competitors and market trends to benchmark ISACA's current and potential offerings and inform go-to-market strategies
  • Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support strategic decisions and team workflows with required information
Stakeholder Management
  • Create a roadmap for data analysis projects, working with stakeholders to determine and establish priorities to balance ongoing projects with ad hoc requests.
  • Facilitate communication across teams and stakeholders throughout all phases of data analysis, from ideation to measurement to reporting.
  • Contribute to an effective work environment by setting a positive tone, establishing performance expectations, and driving accountability.
Qualifications
