Technology Lab Associate Teacher

Position Title: Technology Lab Associate Teacher
Reports To: Technology Teacher, STEM Coordinator, Principal, or Academic Director

Position Summary

The Technology Lab Associate Teacher supports the delivery of technology, computer science, robotics, engineering, and STEM instruction within the school's technology lab. This position assists lead teachers with classroom instruction, student supervision, technology setup, project facilitation, and laboratory management while helping create an engaging, hands-on learning environment that fosters innovation, problem-solving, and digital literacy.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support
  • Assist lead teachers in delivering technology, coding, robotics, engineering, and STEM lessons.
  • Support students during hands-on projects, laboratory activities, and technology-based assignments.
  • Reinforce instructional concepts through small-group and individual student support.
  • Assist with classroom demonstrations, activities, and project-based learning experiences.
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback under the direction of the lead teacher.
Technology Lab Operations
  • Prepare and organize materials, equipment, and technology resources for classroom activities.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, tablets, robotics kits, 3D printers, and other instructional technology.
  • Maintain inventory of lab equipment, supplies, and consumable materials.
  • Ensure technology devices and software are functioning properly and report technical issues as needed.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and organization of the technology lab.
Student Supervision & Classroom Management
  • Support classroom management procedures and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student behavior and ensure adherence to school and laboratory safety guidelines.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, projects, competitions, and field trips.
  • Promote student engagement, collaboration, and responsible use of technology.
Robotics & STEM Program Support
  • Assist with robotics, coding, engineering, and maker-space activities.
  • Support student participation in STEM clubs, robotics competitions, and technology events.
  • Help students develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills through hands-on projects.
  • Encourage creativity and innovation in student learning experiences.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain attendance, records, and documentation as assigned.
  • Assist with grading, data entry, and preparation of instructional materials.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support instructional goals.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Robotics, STEM, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children in an educational, camp, after-school, or STEM program setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, educational technology, coding, or robotics.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with robotics platforms such as LEGO Education, VEX Robotics, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi.
  • Familiarity with coding platforms such as Scratch, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting STEM, maker-space, or technology programs.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout classrooms and technology labs.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist students during instructional activities.
