Dharmacon has a rewarding and exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and successful Product Applications Specialist. This role includes direct sales responsibilities; however, primary emphasis is placed on the technical and scientific aspects of the position.

Dharmacon, now part of Revvity, have combined life science research and applied genomics portfolios to deliver an innovative suite of solutions that support scientists on their journey through drug discovery and development. Dharmacons services and reagents, which leverage gene-editing and modulation technologies, are now complemented by Revvitys imaging, detection, automation and LabChip platforms to better enable critical elements of the drug development and therapeutic value chain, particularly in the area of precision medicine.

The key focus of the Product Applications Specialist is to deliver on the revenue targets by developing value-driven and strategic relationships with designated account customers across the geography and products. Where the emphasis is placed on the technical and scientific aspects of the products. You will be the customers primary point of contact for Dharmacon related technology and offering. You will represent the company locally for both technical and pre-sales support as well as facilitate scientific collaboration. The main efforts to build customer relationships will be through in-person or virtual consultation with individual customers with respect to their projects & needs, provide education on relevant new technologies,assist in technical support, and conduct field marketing initiatives through seminars and presentations. Your responsibility is to interphase between the customer and Dharmacon to enable researcher success and facilitate discovery.This job carries direct sales responsibilities; however, priority is given to the technical and scientific side of the role.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Continually establish and cultivate new business relationships and opportunities; establish and preserve successful relationships and business opportunities with current customers for continued sales growth.
  • Broad understanding of how CRISPR and RNAi are used across the drug discovery process, including how to align Dharmacons products in a way that adds value to our customers business.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Dharmacons products, including how each can be aligned to varying customer use cases.
  • Conduct and present technical seminars to labs, user groups, and local meetings.
  • Provide direct sales support to customers in collaboration with the Global Sales Operations team.
  • Represent Dharmacon at user group meetings, scientific conferences, and regional shows as necessary.
  • Maintain a contact database in customer relationship management system (Salesforce)
  • Prepare quarterly reports on territory performance, and, notable business developments at key accounts.
  • Reporting any activity related to competitor activities, or, business opportunities as applicable.
  • Communicate needs for self-development and develop long term professional goals.
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan to exceed orders targets.
  • Deliver custom value propositions for each account in conjunction with Scientific Research Operations and Product Management to maximize potential with current and prospective customers.
  • Work with internal support teams and in-field Territory Sales Managers to map broader opportunities.
  • Collaborate across departments in the preparation/delivery of marketing materials, proposals, and product information.
  • Actively manage Salesforce inputs to ensure accurate territory management, opportunity management, marketing, reporting, and order forecasting

Basic Qualifications:

  • Life Science related bachelors degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a complex sales/business development role with a proven, successful track record of direct selling in a life sciences environment.
  • Technical product presentation experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree: PhD strongly preferred
  • Hands on laboratory experience in siRNA and gene editing.
  • Experience in providing customer feedback to the product marketing and development teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, understand customer needs and articulate technical value propositions that provide solutions for customers.
  • Fundamental understanding of drug discovery and/or diagnostic workflows, including supporting technologies, products, and services
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Advanced degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft.

The base salary range for this full-time position is 89,500.00 - 112,000.00 USD Annual. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
