NorQuesters are difference makers and we're searching for someone dedicated to making a difference!  We are looking for a term instructor (Cover Off) for our Health Administration and Technology team at our downtown campus to teach in our Dental Office Assistant (DOA) program.  This program teaches skills in dental office administration. 
As a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in a variety of modalities, and this will require the use of technology to deliver engaging learner experiences.  Instructors help our learners acquire the skills, knowledge and attitude to be successful in their chosen career. You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and inclusive environment.

We have one full-time, term instructor position available at our downtown campus. This position is a cover off position from August 2026 until January 2027 with the possibility of extension.  Instructors will need to teach courses in the Dental Office Assistant program and other programs. Instructors must be available to teach classes Monday to Friday, during the day, at our downtown campus as well as online.

Applicants should have a strong background in dental administration, working with groups, managing a classroom, and creating engaging and dynamic lessons, utilizing a variety of teaching methods.  

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

 
  • Deliver instruction in Dental Office Procedures, Computer Applications for Dental Office Professionals, Dental Terminology, and other courses within the Office Assistant and Unit Clerk programs as required.
  • Plan and develop instructional materials and learning activities aligned with course learning outcomes.
  • Create engaging and dynamic lessons utilizing a variety of teaching methods to support diverse adult learners.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that promotes student success.
  • Leverage educational technology and learning tools to enhance learning experience.
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student performance and provide timely formative and summative feedback.
  • Support student success by identifying learning challenges, communicating progress concerns, and developing learner improvement plans as needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders while upholding professional responsibilities and teaching excellence.

Courses for the teaching assignment include: 

  • Dental Office Procedures 
  • Computer Applications for Dental Office Professionals 
  • Dental Terminology 
  • Other courses in the Office Assistant and Unit Clerk programs as required 

Preference will be given to applicants who can teach a variety of courses. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • At least two years of recent experience working in the dental industry preferably in an administrative role 
  • At least three years of teaching experience
  • Proficiency in using technology; demonstrated experience teaching using Moodle and/or Kaltura would be a benefit
  • Active membership/registration with a dental association (e.g. RDH, RDA) is considered an asset
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline is considered an asset
