Summary of Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach undergraduate aviation courses in a student-centered learning environment.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and/or creative works that support the missions of the university, department, and aviation profession.
  • Participate in community outreach, industry partnerships, and curriculum development to align academic programs with workforce and industry needs.
  • Teach courses in a variety of formats, which may include day, evening, weekend, online, blended, and off-campus instruction.
  • Contribute to UVU's strong culture of teaching excellence by creating engaging learning experiences that help students achieve their educational goals.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Aviation or a related field to the coursework being taught.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in an Aviation-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Higher education experience with online teaching experience.

  • Knowledge of the principles and methodology of adult teaching techniques.
  • Knowledge of current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policies, regulations, and procedures as related to best practices in industry.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and research methodology.

  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques in upper and lower division courses.
