Introduction to the role The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert who strategically supports the medical and scientific objectives of Alexion's products across their life cycle. The MSL communicates accurate and applicable science to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within a geographic area, leads and maintains professional relationships with KOLs, and identifies collaboration opportunities with Alexion. Combining a strong eye for business and clinical expertise, the MSL serves as a peer-to-peer liaison both internally and externally.

Note that this role will cover the Quebec and Atlantic region. What You'll Do: Developing and maintaining peer-to-peer collaborations with key medical experts in the therapeutic area (TA) and adjacent specialties within the assigned region. Serving as a scientific peer-to-peer resource to Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) disease experts.

Driving the identification, development, and alignment with Key Opinion Leaders, other important healthcare professionals (HCPs), and partners, including professional organizations. Educating the medical community with up-to-date medical and scientific information and exhibiting robust disease expertise and product information. Delivering quality medical education presentations in a variety of settings and acquiring valuable feedback that can be disseminated throughout the organization e.g

Staff Meetings, Round Tables, Hospital Meeting activities. Communicating and educating Alexion internal customers on local initiatives on disease and treatment guidelines in a timely manner. Identifying and implementing collaboration opportunities between expert KOLs in NF1 and Alexion medical affairs, and clinical development such as publications, collaborative research, regional advisory boards, training, and speaker development programs.

Communicating expert opinion, feedback on new data, and clinical trends to Alexion Medical Affairs, therapeutic area franchises, and translating this information into strategic recommendations to improve science and advance patient care. Supporting and implementing the Brand and Affiliate Company Strategy to ensure that accurate and comprehensive scientific information concerning our products and therapeutic area is available to decision-makers and healthcare providers. Ensuring that physician experts are fully trained on speaker presentations, all questions are accurately addressed, and references are provided upon request.

Responding to unsolicited medical information requests in the region, handling questions, collaborating closely with headquarters to ensure accurate response has been provided, and ensuring that data is fair and balanced. Providing input into collaborative research objectives and serving as a champion for proposals submitted. Serving as point person and conduit for respective projects and in conjunction with clinical operations, performing clinical study feasibility and supporting effective study implementation.

Attending appropriate national and international meetings and congresses to gather intelligence, assist personal education, ensuring to use these opportunities to develop relationships with important HCPs for the assigned geographic area. Ensuring a close working relationship with cross-functional partners including commercial operations, sales, and marketing teams. What We're Looking For: 3+ years of MSL experience.

PharmD or PhD or equivalent with experience in biological sciences. Bilingual French/ English. Experience in the therapeutic area and experience relating to recently launched and marketed biologics/therapies would be beneficial in this role.

Previous experience in a rare or ultrarare disease environment would be considered an asset. Strong ability and experience to present complex scientific data. Consistent track record of relationship development in the industry.

Having well-established networks and relationships with TA-focused experts is highly preferred. Energetically embrace responsibilities and demonstrate ability to achieve goals. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and high-level job proficiencies.

Have a strong personal initiative and function well as part of a cross-functional team. Exhibit excellent time management and ability to work independently. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to travel to medical meetings, team meetings, and group meetings is required; some weekends may also be required. Live within the territory in which you will work (required). You will have a home-based office and be required to travel within the assigned region.

Participer aux reunions et congres nationaux et internationaux pertinents afin de recueillir de l'information strategique, de favoriser son propre perfectionnement et de profiter de ces occasions pour etablir des relations avec les professionnels de la sante importants de la zone geographique assignee. Maintenir une relation de travail etroite avec les partenaires interfonctionnels, notamment les equipes des operations commerciales, des ventes et du marketing. Profil recherche Au moins trois ans d'experience comme attache scientifique medical (MSL).

Doctorat en pharmacie (Pharm. D.), doctorat (Ph. D.) ou formation equivalente, assorti d'une experience en sciences biologiques

Bilinguisme francais-anglais. Une experience dans le domaine therapeutique ainsi qu'une experience des produits biologiques ou des traitements recemment lances et commercialises seraient des atouts pour ce poste. Une experience anterieure dans le domaine des maladies rares ou ultra-rares serait consideree comme un atout.

Solide capacite a presenter des donnees scientifiques complexes, ainsi qu'une experience en la matiere. Experience constante et demontree dans l'etablissement de relations au sein de l'industrie. Des reseaux et des relations bien etablis avec des experts du domaine therapeutique concerne sont fortement souhaites.

Faire preuve d'enthousiasme dans l'exercice de ses responsabilites et demontrer sa capacite a atteindre ses objectifs. Demontrer de solides competences organisationnelles et un haut niveau de maitrise professionnelle. Faire preuve d'initiative personnelle et etre a l'aise de travailler au sein d'une equipe interfonctionnelle.

Posseder d'excellentes competences en gestion du temps et etre capable de travailler de facon autonome. Excellentes aptitudes en communication orale et ecrite. Etre capable de se deplacer pour assister a des reunions medicales, des reunions d'equipe et des reunions de groupe; certains deplacements durant les fins de semaine peuvent egalement etre requis.
