Job description

Data Scientist – TS/SCI with Polygraph Required
  • Full Time
About the Team

At Core Interface, we believe great software is built by small teams of thoughtful engineers working on meaningful problems.
Our work supports mission-critical federal programs where rigorous analytical thinking drives real decisions at scale.

We’re growing our data science team and are looking for modelers and analysts across multiple experience levels who can move fluently between complex datasets and clear, actionable insight — and who thrive working closely with engineers and mission partners.

What You’ll Do in This Role
  • Develop, evaluate, and deploy predictive and optimization models using Python, R, or equivalent tools
  • Apply machine learning, NLP, and AI techniques to support entity resolution and extraction workflows
  • Gather, profile, and prepare large datasets for analysis and model training
  • Create and track accuracy and performance metrics for deployed models
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintain technical documentation for models, experiments, and data workflows
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a highly quantitative field — Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or Operations Research
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and pipeline development
  • Experience building and evaluating machine learning, statistical, or NLP models
  • Working knowledge of SQL and experience with large, complex datasets
  • Ability to distill ambiguous requirements into well-defined analytical problems
  • Clear communication skills; comfortable presenting quantitative concepts to mixed audiences
Additional Strengths That Stand Out
  • Experience with Big Data platforms and distributed processing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems in a production environment
  • Experience in financial or statistical modeling
  • Prior work in an IC or DoD mission environment
Core Interface Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision (employee + family)
  • 401(k) with 6% company contribution
  • 4 weeks PTO plus 11 federal holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Government shutdown protection
  • Tuition assistance and technical training
  • Internet, phone, and fitness reimbursements
  • Referral bonuses and spot awards
  • Quarterly team events
Commitment to Inclusion

Core Interface is an Equal Opportunity / Affimative Action employer committed to building a workplace where everyone can contribute and grow.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to protected status under applicable law.
