Job description

Financial Service Advisor

What You'll Be Doing
Provides financial advice to clients and prospects. Develops financial portfolios based on clients' financial needs and objectives. Uses knowledge of tax and investment strategies, securities, insurance, and pension plans. May be responsible for selling financial products such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and insurance. Develops advisory and consultative sales skills to help retain good client relationships to ensure long-term profitability. Learns product knowledge through training classes. Develops analytical skills to help in developing financial solutions. Uses approved credit analysis fundamentals and processes to finalize product sales. Advises clients and provides assistance or refers clients to experts. Manages a portfolio and cross-sells to clients and prospects.
Provides excellent service to Members seeking information on alternative investment products offered through broker/dealer. Assists Members with financial planning, including but not limited to mutual funds, securities transactions and/or life insurance, 529 plans.
  • Discusses financial investment alternatives with Members. Evaluates Member's goals, risk tolerance and suggests appropriate investments.
  • Provides consultative services to Members regarding credit union products and services by assessing the Member's needs, addressing their concerns and gaining agreement.
  • Proactively engage with a portfolio of Members to discuss their comprehensive investments needs.
  • Updates SchoolsFirst FCU team on products and services offered through the investment program.
  • Ensures required compliance documents are completed. Maintains regular contact with OSJ.
  • Offers financial review sessions for all Members at least annually.
  • Initiates Member investment selections and records transactions with broker/dealer.
  • Schedules and conducts meetings with Members via phone and virtually through video conference.

Additional Job Functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • 7-10 years of prior relevant experience required
  • Certifications or licenses including Series 7 and 66, or Series 63 and 65 in lieu of 66. California Insurance License required
