As a school social worker, your responsibilities and duties include providing services to students, as well as educators, administrators, and students’ families to help students succeed in school, in spite of difficult situations. You may provide counsel and education to students regarding stress management, difficult domestic situations, attendance issues, substance abuse, and teen pregnancy. You may also help teachers understand how best to cope with behavior problems in the classroom. Your job is to work with everyone involved in the student's life to develop plans and strategies that can positively impact the student’s education.
