TEnsures a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply of materials for plant operations. Responsibilities include executing purchase orders, managing supplier performance and AS9100/ISO 13485 requirements, maintaining the Approved Supplier List (ASL), monitoring inventory and material availability, supporting audits and proposal costing, developing alternate sources of supply, maintaining accurate ERP transactions, and resolving cost, quality, delivery, and supply-chain issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Executes purchase orders and ensures appropriate quality, technical, regulatory, customer, and record-retention requirements are flowed down to suppliers.
  • Monitors material inventory, demand, lead times, and supplier commitments to maintain continuity of supply and mitigate shortages.
  • Monitors supplier performance KPIs, including quality and on-time delivery, and initiates corrective actions and escalations as required.
  • Maintains purchasing and supplier-control processes in accordance with the site's AS9100 and ISO 13485 certified Quality Management System and applicable customer requirements.
  • Supports AS9100, ISO 13485, customer, internal, and other quality/compliance audits, including preparation and retrieval of purchasing and supplier records.
  • Develops ROM material cost estimates and supplier quotations in support of proposals and new business opportunities.
  • Supports new supplier identification, evaluation, qualification, and approval, and maintains the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Supports physical inventory activities, inventory reconciliation, and resolution of material discrepancies.
  • Executes accurate purchasing transactions within the plant ERP system.
  • Identifies and develops new and alternate sources of supply to improve capacity, mitigate supply-chain risk, support cost objectives, and reduce single-source dependencies.
  • Partners with Quality, Operations, Engineering, Planning, and Finance to resolve supplier, material, cost, and delivery issues.
  • Management of up to two inventory and production control associates.
Qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management, or a related manufacturing environment. Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Operations preferred.
  • Language Skills:
    • Must be able to effectively communicate direction and training both verbally and in writing.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to solve basic to moderately difficult calculations and analyze data.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    • Must be able to make sound business decisions based on available information and facts.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365. Knowledge of Baan ERP is preferred.
