Job description

TheAfterschool ProgramVolunteer will assist YMCA staff in leading daily activities for children in grades K-7, as well as set-up and clean-upof supplies, equipment, and program space. All activitiesfocus on the YMCACore Valuesof Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and foster community pride. Activities includelunch (Tuesdays only) and snack, outdoor activetime, large and small group indoor games, arts and crafts, and homework help.

The Afterschool program takes place at the following sites in Quincy (volunteers must provide own transportation to and from site):

Germantown Neighborhood Center, 366 Palmer St.

Clifford Marshal Elementary School, 200 Moody St.

Bethel Church, 41 Empire St.

Broad Meadows Middle School, 50 Calvin Rd.

Schedule *Program start time varies slightly by school

The Afterschool program runs Monday through Friday (except holidays/school vacations), from release time (between 2-2:30pm)until 6pm.

*Half Day Tuesdays* Quincy elementary schools have half days every Tuesday. Elementary site programs will start between 11:30am-12pm on half days (start time varies by site)

Volunteers are welcomefor all weekdays, however currently the greatest need is on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

*Volunteer schedules will vary based on individual site schedule and need
