Immanuel Bible Church has been faithfully preaching and teaching God’s Word in Springfield, Virginia for more than 60 years. Our mission is to build mature followers of Christ who seek Him constantly, serve Him faithfully, and share Him boldly. IBC seeks an entry to mid-level Facilities Maintenance technician who is ministry-minded – an “all-in” team player and servant leader. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting IBC/ICS operations behind-the-scenes with excellence to enable the Church to focus on Gospel teaching, preaching, and ministry activities, and the School to prepare students to serve Christ in this competitive, global world of the 21st century.

The job duties listed below are a general list of responsibilities.

· ELECTRICAL: Perform basic electrical repairs to switches and outlets, lamps and ballast, emergency lighting

· PLUMBING: Perform basic plumbing repairs on sink faucets, water closets, drinking fountains.

· DRYWALL: Perform drywall repair and finishing, painting, cove base installation, suspended ceiling grid repair and tile replacement.

· CARPENTRY: Perform basic carpentry tasks to include door and frame adjustments and installation of locks and hardware on new and existing doors. Mount items on drywall and masonry surfaces.

· PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE: Assist with preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC, fire suppression and sprinkler systems, lift station, storm water pumps, etc.

· JANITORIAL/“DAY PORTER” TASKS: Ensure a clean, safe, and fully equipped environment for IBC and ICS facilities by performing occasional janitorial and “day porter”–type duties (note: professional custodians will perform the bulk of this work every evening).

· Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Suitable candidates for this position will have a good understanding of commercial building systems as well as the willingness to support facilities maintenance staff with other facilities-related activities (including custodial work for the church and school) as needed. Candidates will have good time management and communication skills. They will exemplify customer service and possess a positive reputation in both Christian and secular communities. This position may sometimes be expected to report to work during inclement weather to clear snow or perform other duties that ensure the facilities remain operational for service. Candidates are required to submit copies of all professional credentials listed on their resume. This position includes a three-month, performance-based probationary period to assess skills and team suitability. The successful candidate must become a member of Immanuel Bible Church within 90 days of their start date.
