Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
About Primavera Online School
Primavera Online School is an accredited, tuition-free public charter school serving students across Arizona for more than 25 years. We specialize in flexible, student-centered online education designed to meet learners where they are-academically, emotionally, and socially.
We believe every student deserves access to an education that adapts to their life, not the other way around. At Primavera, we support diverse learners, empower families, and partner closely with educators to create personalized learning experiences that drive real outcomes. Our work is grounded in care, accountability, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed-both in school and beyond.
As a fully remote organization, we value clear communication, collaboration, and ownership. You'll find a mission-driven team that takes its responsibility to students seriously while supporting one another as professionals and humans.
The Team You Will Join
You'll be part of the School Counseling Department team, working closely with students and families, teachers, academic advisors, administration, special education, MTSS teams, and other student support staff. This team is responsible for providing comprehensive school counseling services that support student academic success, social-emotional development, engagement, and graduation readiness, while ensuring students and families feel supported throughout their online learning experience.
As an online school serving many students in an alternative education setting, our work is especially focused on meeting diverse student needs, removing barriers to learning, and helping students stay on track toward graduation.
The team culture is collaborative, supportive, student-centered, and mission-driven, and you'll have opportunities to grow professionally, strengthen systems, improve student outcomes, and make a direct impact by partnering across Primavera Online School.
The Difference You Will Make
In this role, your work will directly impact students, families, and school operations by supporting student academic progress, strengthening engagement, and providing timely interventions that promote success in an online learning environment.
You'll help support learners through academic and social-emotional counseling, improve student experience through proactive outreach, strengthen MTSS systems, and collaborate with school teams to remove barriers to learning, contributing to Primavera's mission in a meaningful and visible way.
A Typical Day Looks Like
While no two days are exactly the same, you can expect to
  • Provide academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling support to assigned students and families
  • Monitor student progress, engagement, and attendance while providing proactive outreach and interventions
  • Support MTSS processes, documentation, and referrals to ensure students receive timely, appropriate supports
  • Collaborate regularly with teachers, academic teams, special education, and leadership through meetings and cross-functional communication
  • Utilize platforms such as LMS, PowerSchool, SchooLinks, email/phone systems, and internal dashboards to track progress and support student success

This role balances independent work, collaboration, problem-solving, and execution and is well-suited for someone who enjoys supporting students, managing details, communicating clearly, and contributing to systems that improve student outcomes.
Your Expertise Includes
We're looking for someone who brings:
  • Valid Arizona School Counselor Certification and relevant counseling experience in K-12 education
  • Strong knowledge of comprehensive school counseling practices, student development, and academic planning
  • Excellent communication, organization, and case management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships with students and families while providing proactive, solutions-focused support
  • Comfort using student information systems, learning management systems, and data to guide outreach and interventions (PowerSchool, LMS platforms, SchooLinks, Microsoft/Google tools)

Bonus points if you also have:
  • Experience in an online and/or alternative education setting
  • Knowledge of MTSS systems, 504 processes, special education collaboration, and college/career readiness programming

Our Commitment to Inclusion & Belonging
At Primavera Online School, we serve a richly diverse student population-and we believe our team should reflect that same diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace where all team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their best work. Diverse ideas strengthen our school, improve outcomes for students, and help us better serve the families and communities who rely on us.
All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels a true sense of belonging and purpose.
How We'll Take Care of You
We believe that supporting our team members is essential to supporting our students. At Primavera, care, balance, and well-being are part of how we operate-not extras.
Our commitment to you includes:
  • A competitive total compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits
  • Well-being support that fits real life-from virtual wellness programs and wellness coaching to flexible work options for select roles
  • Generous PTO options, including unlimited PTO for exempt roles and "life happens" days when flexibility is needed
  • A fully paid holiday week off at Christmas to rest, reset, and recharge
  • Recognition and rewards that celebrate birthdays, meaningful milestones, and the important work you do for students and families
  • Quarterly Town Halls to keep communication transparent, aligned, and human
  • Annual events and traditions that help us stay connected as a remote school community

We're intentional about creating a workplace where people feel supported, respected, and proud of the impact they make-every day.
