To thrive as a School-Based RBT, you need a solid understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior intervention strategies, and must hold an RBT certification. Familiarity with data collection systems, behavior tracking software, and progress reporting tools is essential. Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills are vital for working effectively with students, teachers, and support staff. RBTs may also provide in-class support, assist in data collection, and offer strategies to teachers for managing challenging behaviors, ensuring a cohesive approach to student success.

What are school-based RBTs?

School-based Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are trained professionals who work within educational settings to provide behavior therapy and support to students, particularly those with autism or other developmental disorders. They implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to help students develop social, academic, and life skills.
