What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Schmidt, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Schmidt (blacksmith), you need expertise in metalworking, forging, and fabrication, often gained through apprenticeship or vocational training. Familiarity with tools such as anvils, hammers, tongs, forges, and safety equipment is essential, and certification from trade schools or blacksmithing associations can be beneficial. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills help set individuals apart in this role. These skills ensure the production of high-quality metal products, safe working practices, and the ability to meet custom client needs.
