Job description

About MicroFlex®

MicroFlex® builds and operates purpose-built, small-bay flex industrial real estate across high-growth markets in the Southeast. We focus on high-quality space, straightforward lease terms, and a tenant-first experience. We run a lean platform and look for people who help us scale with discipline and ownership.

The Role

The Operations Associate is a cross-functional execution role supporting several areas of the business, with a focus on marketing execution support, finance and accounting support, and general administrative coordination.

This role is built for someone dependable, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership once direction and priorities are clear. The right person is reliable, accurate, creative, and willing to step into a problem, organize it, and move it forward.

We are at a build-it stage as a company and look for a builder’s mindset in every role: high agency, resourcefulness, coachability, and a bias toward action. In this seat, that mindset shows up across several functions rather than building any one thing in particular.

This is a broad role, not a narrow one. You will support the operating engine of the company by helping execute across multiple functions and keeping work organized and moving.

Marketing is a growing part of this role. We are building our marketing system; this person supports that work now and, over time, can grow into a marketing seat as the platform scales.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable using AI and modern tools to create leverage for the team. This person will receive direction and training from the leaders responsible for each function, while also being expected to learn quickly, take ownership, and move work forward without needing every step spelled out. As the platform grows, this role grows with it.

Core Responsibilities

Marketing Execution Support

• Support the marketing plan being built by our contractor and internal team, helping execute day-to day marketing tasks across the platform

• Help produce, organize, and schedule content across social media, drawing from and extending our existing content library

• Bring creative ability and an eye for content to social posts, collateral, flyers, presentations, and other marketing materials

• Support property-level and platform-level marketing across active developments and operating properties

• Assist with routine website updates on microflexspace.com and basic SEO tasks, coordinating with marketing vendors where needed

• Help ensure marketing materials are accurate, professional, brand-consistent, and aligned with current property-level information

• Coordinate with marketing vendors and internal team members to keep execution moving

• Grow into owning more of the company’s marketing execution over time

Finance & Accounting Support

• Provide light administrative support to finance and accounting, including invoice tracking, reconciliation support, reporting files, and internal documentation

• Help keep financial records, supporting schedules, and backup materials organized and easy to access

• Support the preparation and organization of materials needed for accounting, reporting, and operational review

• Coordinate with internal leadership and accounting team members on recurring finance and accounting processes

• Some familiarity with basic finance is helpful, but depth in financial modeling or accounting is not required

Administrative, Data & Platform Support

• Help organize and keep current the data used across the platform, including inputs that underwriting, reporting, and leadership decision-making rely on

• Maintain internal trackers, deal files, market data, and process documents so information stays current, accurate, and organized

• Support general administrative execution across the organization, including meetings, follow-ups, internal documents, investor relations and recurring operating rhythms

• Help keep the team’s trackers, tools, and templates organized, and suggest improvements that make the work easier

• Step into cross-functional needs as they arise, while staying focused on the role’s core operating support responsibilities Why This Role Matters MicroFlex is scaling, and growth creates a lot of moving parts. This role exists to keep core functions organized and moving, reduce bottlenecks, and support the execution the platform needs to scale. It is also a potential on-ramp to our marketing function for the right person. You will start broad, make yourself useful across the business, and become increasingly valuable, with a path toward a primarily marketing role as the company grows.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1- 3 years of experience, relevant backgrounds include marketing, operations, administrative support, finance, real estate, or another execution-heavy setting

• Proven track record of being dependable, reliable, detail-oriented, and trusted to follow through

• A builder’s mindset: high agency, resourceful, coachable, and biased toward action

• An organizer who can take a problem, structure it, and move it forward

• A creative eye and the ability to support polished marketing materials, presentations, flyers, and content

• Enough comfort with Excel and spreadsheets to work within and improve our internal systems, plus the resourcefulness to lean on AI to fill the gaps

• Basic familiarity with finance, accounting, or business reporting is helpful, but deep finance experience is not required

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams at once

• Exceptional attention to detail, someone who catches errors and understands that small mistakes can create larger operational problems

• Comfortable using AI and modern software tools to work faster and more independently

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness to operate across different parts of the business and learn quickly

• Real estate experience is a plus, but not required

We are looking for someone resourceful enough to learn what they do not know and proactive enough to make themselves useful.

Who This Is Not For

• People who want a marketing-only role today; marketing is a growing part of this role, not its day one focus

• Individuals looking for a narrowly defined role with limited responsibilities

• Candidates who are unwilling to take ownership once direction and priorities are clear

• People who are uncomfortable switching between different types of work

• Individuals who avoid problems that do not come with a perfectly clear starting point

• Candidates who are unwilling to use technology and AI tools to become more effective

• People looking for a slow-moving, highly structured corporate environment This role rewards ownership, adaptability, resourcefulness, dependability, detail orientation, creativity, and follow-through.

Compensation & Structure

• Competitive base salary aligned with experience, plus performance-based bonus

• Full-time W-2 position with health benefits and PTO

• In-office role based in Birmingham, AL
