Job description

Purpose: Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Monitors materials inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Essential Duties and Functions: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  • Initiate work orders through an MRP system.
  • Update and/or communicate rates and routers when necessary.
  • Work with department leads on a daily basis to coordinate flow of orders.
  • Issue schedules to department leads and coordinate the cutting schedules to level load and flow the plant.
  • Work with engineering for work orders for prototypes and samples.
  • Coordinate with inventory control on inventory days work order, opened or closed, along with WIP inventories.
  • Initiate conversation about overtime and labor needs to get orders through work centers.
  • Work with IT to enhance scheduling process.
  • Interact with all department heads.
  • Communicate to sales any and all delivery concerns.
  • Communicate with other facilities about deliveries.
  • Work with purchasing for material and supplies needed for production.
  • Interact with maintenance on machine priorities.
  • Work closely with shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities-Supervision and/or Leadership Exercised: No supervision or direct reports. None
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Needs to be enthusiastic, self driven, and motivated.
  • Computer knowledge is necessary.
  • English verbal and written is necessary. Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications (including Education):
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area

  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Visual Acuity:
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Work Environment and other Conditions:
  • PPE requirements: Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required when in production floor as a minimum. Other PPE may be required depending on area and specific function needs.
