To support Air Canada's continued growth and success, the Schedule Optimization Analyst resides in Network Planning branch, within the Scheduling and Network Planning team that manages Air Canada’s flying schedules and network. Main objective is the continued development of the schedule along commercial and operational lines in accordance with corporate objectives for profitability, growth, competitive market position and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Make adjustments to commercial schedule based on Commercial KPI’s such as YoY evaluations on RPM, ASM, Yield, RASM, and historical Flight Profitability
  • Manage short- to medium-term schedule adjustments (3-300+ days) to meet or exceed commercial targets while maintaining operational integrity and maximizing overall network profitability
  • Ensure network schedule integrity at all times
  • Identify and incorporate commercial and operational requirements (e.g., asset changes, connectivity, maintenance, block time adjustments) into the schedule while preserving or improving network profitability
  • Develop operationally feasible schedules which minimize costs of delivery across all stakeholders
  • Maintain and optimize network connectivity and flight timings through effective schedule management
  • Optimize fleet assignment, utilization & manage available fleet
  • Ensure seamless integration of regional airline flying in the planned schedule
  • Maintain strong interfaces and communicate requirements with operational & commercial groups
  • Coordinate with operational branches to optimize manpower planning requirements
  • Support slot portfolio management
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with stakeholders across the organization

Qualifications

  • Airline experience, including operational and commercial knowledge
  • Experience with aircraft scheduling or similar scheduling experience
  • Ability to rapidly grasp impacts of schedule modifications on overall network
  • Initiative in identifying schedule opportunities and threats and in implementing solutions
  • Mastery of information technology tools such as MS Office automation
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Sabre Schedule Manager and other scheduling systems an asset
  • Logical and analytical skills including the ability to question system outputs and to solve complex problems
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Communication skills including the ability to resolve conflicts
  • Knowledge of Air Canada financial and accounting concepts such as variable and fixed costs concepts and cost accounting
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Negotiation skills and team player
  • University degree an asset
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
