What is SCCS?

SCCS, or Source Code Control System, is a software tool used to manage and track changes to source code and other text files over time. It helps developers collaborate by keeping a history of changes, enabling multiple people to work on the same project without overwriting each other's work. SCCS allows users to check in and check out files, view revision histories, and revert to previous versions as needed. While SCCS was one of the first version control systems developed, it has largely been replaced by more modern systems like Git and Subversion.
