Job Summary 

Scale Service Technicians work mostly on their own in the field to calibrate and / or repair customer’s industrial scales. The right candidates must have strong mechanical/technical skills, strong computer skills, physical aptitude, and enjoy problem solving. While much of the job requires the ability to be autonomous, candidates must be able to work on a team to deliver world class service to our customers. Upon completion of calibration, the service tech debriefs the customer on all findings, then enters data into calibration software and creates a Certificate of Calibration for the customer. Will work some overtime and weekend hours.

Essential Functions:    

  • Onsite and In shop preventive maintenance
  • Calibration and / or repair of Industrial Scales
  • Accurate documentation of work performed, and data collected
  • Respond to Call Service (Emergency) to fix and repair Customer’s Scales – calls could be during or after working hours.  
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekend hours – may also include some overnight travel.
  • Consistently maintain good work attendance and productive work ethic.
  • Generate service and sales leads – promote GR Metrology services and products
  • Ability to act as a “Trusted Advisor” to our customers

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical, electronic and / or technical background in industrial setting
  • Military service- calibration experience a plus
  • Welding knowledge a plus
  • Ability to pass an MVR and obtain a Class B CDL.
  • Service-minded with strong communication skills; computer aptitude
  • Able to lift and carry 50lb weights, repetitively, able to stand for extended periods of time
