Job description

Venture Metals + is a fast-growing, metal recycling company looking to grow our operations team with a Truck Scale Operator at our Houston Location.

Our Scale Operators are the friendly face to the Truck Drivers that enter our facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of the ticket materials, properly ID vehicles & personnel, request required legal documentation of customers.
  • Assess by grade accurate weight of material orders and issues supplies for visitors and customers entering the yard.
  • Direct weight materials, inbound & outbound, into process area.
  • Participate in the VMI Safety Programs and proactively uphold the VMI Safety Culture
  • Adhere to all ISO Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and procedures.
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area.
  • Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
  • Decision making abilities with excellent customer service in verbal and written communication
  • Scrap Metal/ Waste Recycle experience preferred (not mandatory)
