Position Reports To:                       Yard Manager
FLSA Status:                                       Hourly
  • This is a seasonal position. May-December (or as business needs)
  • Hours may vary depending on commodity needs and staffing needs

Position Purpose Summary: A Scalehouse Associate 1 scales in/out drivers with raw product and other commodities, enters grower and product information in spreadsheets and grades 2 types of raw product (asparagus and cherries)
Principal Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve the needs of customers and all stakeholders
  • Adhere to all Food Safety and GMP Policies
  • Monitor incoming loads and scale drivers in/out
  • Grade raw product and document/report

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Broad knowledge and experience in scaling, grading of product
  • Above average skills in math; attendance

  • Demonstrated ability to obtain general information regarding growers; above average communication and responsibility skills, the ability to read, write and communicate in English
Education and Experience:
  • Degree or equivalent experience: high school diploma or equivalent
  • Years of experience: one to six months
  • Other: ability to grade raw product; asparagus and cherries
Physical Demands of the Position:
  • While performing the duties of this positon, the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, climbing,  use hands and fingers for typing and writing
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to variable tempatures of both heat and cold; exposure to wet and snow.
