We strive each day to better serve our customers and employees.Position Overview:The Pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, and ensure smooth operation of those systems. The Pipefitter will be responsible for cutting, assembling, installing pipes, and will operate tools and machines to grind, mill, and shape raw materials into a specified form, then assemble the final product.Responsibilities and Duties:Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.Gathers equipment and materials for the job.Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cuts or bores holes prior to project.Installs various types of pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.Assist with jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the hth companies' Safety Program.Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture.Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.Qualifications:Education and ExperienceBasic math skills.Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.Ability to read schematics and blueprints.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Personal CharacteristicsAbility to problem solve and develop solutions.Follows directions of manager / lead / superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed.Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients.Adaptable in methods used to complete task.Always have a support and teaching mindset.Ability to read, analyze, and address complex data or situations.Excellent communication skills - maintaining professionalism when communicating with staff and prospective employees alike.Willing to go the extra mile.Motivated to learn new skills.Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, and prospective employees.Shows up on time ready to complete work.Ability to work independently.Physical AbilitiesAbility to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis.Ability to climb Ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.Ability to observe conditions and others as safety attendant staying alert while seated for long periods of time as needed.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment in a safe and controlled manner.Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment.Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.Ability to follow safety protocol and to report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.
