Job description

The Kelly Group is looking for qualified Mechanical Insulator/Scaffold Builder candidates for its Decatur, Illinois, location and work in the surrounding area. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience, and experience in grain handling and/or processing environments is a plus.

Limited travel opportunities may be available periodically, with road pay and per diem available when traveling.

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

  • Install mechanical installation (including cutouts) on pipes, boilers and other industrial equipment
  • Measure, cut and shape insulation materials
  • Understand the appropriate use of insulation materials including fiberglass, mineral wool and others
  • Utilize proper personal protective equipment as required
  • Work safely at heights and in extreme temperatures/harsh environments
  • Familiarity with wedge, rosette and frame scaffolding
  • Ability to inspect for defects

Other preferred qualifications sought include:

  • Previous training as a competent person for scaffold erection
  • Carpentry skills
