NSC Staffing is seeking experienced Riggers for an ongoing project in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in rigging and demonstrate a strong understanding of rigging processes aboard ships and within industrial environments.
Essential Job Functions - Rigger
As a Rigger, you will be responsible for rigging machinery, equipment, and heavy loads aboard ships and within industrial settings. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  1. Scaffolding and Weight Testing: Assist in erecting scaffolding and staging as needed and perform weight testing in compliance with safety guidelines.
  2. Rigging Fabrication and Repair: Fabricate, install, and repair rigging, including weight-handling gear aboard ships.
  3. Hoisting and Positioning: Select and attach appropriate rigging gear to hoisting machinery, braces, and cushions based on the weight distribution and layout of obstacles.
  4. Load Movement: Control and navigate the movement of heavy objects through confined spaces using jacks, pulleys, chain falls, and rollers.
  5. Signal Operation: Signal crane operators or other equipment handlers to lift and move loads safely.
  6. Tool Use: Use tools like wrenches, hammers, and pliers to drive pins, form slings, and install rigging gear.
  7. Climbing: Be comfortable with climbing vertical ladders and navigating gangways to access different areas of the ship.
  8. Adaptability: Work in environments with extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  9. Cost Control: Take responsibility for controlling costs in your assigned area.

Qualifications
