Job description

PLEASE NOTE: This position is open to candidates local to Lake Worth, FL (only) - NO RELOCATION

The role of Rigging Technician is to assist in the warehouse rigging department, prepare rigging equipment for upcoming jobs, and work onsite under the direction of the Production Manager and Lead Rigger to install and strike elements that require rigging.

Warehouse Responsibilities

  • Prepare rigging equipment and hardware for upcoming jobs. This includes making steel cable drops, dog bones, etc., under the direction of Production Managers and the Interim Lead Rigger.
  • Pull and scan out rigging equipment and hardware for all jobs under the direction of Warehouse Managers
  • Return and scan in rigging equipment and hardware from all jobs under the direction of Warehouse Managers
  • QC all rigging equipment regularly with direction from the Interim Lead Rigger
  • Manage inventory of expendable rigging materials, including steel cable, hardware, etc.
  • Conduct yearly maintenance of all rigging equipment during the off-season under the direction of the Interim Lead Rigger
  • Track issues with any malfunctioning/damaged rigging equipment.
  • Under the direction of the Interim Lead Rigger, manage repairs and replace items

Onsite Responsibilities

  • Install/strike all elements requiring rigging.
  • Lead the installation/strike of all elements requiring rigging.
  • Work under the direction of the Interim Lead Rigger to install/strike all elements requiring rigging on larger jobs.
  • Observe full-time and freelance staff and alert your superior if standard industry safety procedures are not being followed.
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements per OSHA

Qualifications & Skills

  • General knowledge of production rigging
  • Ability to read and understand CADs and to point out possible issues to avoid problems
  • Knowledge of load capacities
  • At least 2 years of onsite rigging experience. ETCP rigging certification preferred.
  • Hard-working self-starter
  • Creative with a problem-solving mindset
  • Motivated to learn and advance in the production industry

Physical abilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to bend, twist, and stand. The ideal candidate must be able to physically lift 50 pounds or more and perform repetitive motions and tasks in a non-climate-controlled environment

This position is non-exempt. Standard warehouse working hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Onsite working hours will often fall outside the standard 9 AM to 5 PM times. Overnight and extended shifts may be required based on Event Production Schedules. Overtime is often required during high-volume months.
