Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Outboard Boat Rigger to join our team. Your expertise and precision will play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and safe watercraft to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Outboard Engine Installation: Expertly install outboard engines of various sizes and models onto boats, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment.
  • Rigging Components: Assemble and rig various components, including steering systems, control cables, fuel lines, electrical connections, and propellers, to ensure the smooth functioning of outboard engines.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of completed rigging work to verify that all connections are secure and meet safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to rigging and make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adherence to Specifications: Follow technical guidelines, boat manufacturer's instructions, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate rigging installation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with boatbuilders, technicians, and other team members to coordinate rigging activities during boat assembly and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Customer Interaction: Assist customers with questions and provide guidance on boat rigging and engine operation.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and occasional repairs on outboard engines and rigging components as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during rigging operations, handling tools, and equipment with care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in boat rigging is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a boat rigger or in a related marine field.
  • Solid understanding of rigging principles, components, and their application in different types of boats.
  • Knowledge of different outboard engine types and experience with their installation.
  • Familiarity with boat rigging components, including steering systems, control cables, and electrical connections.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using various hand tools and power tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality workmanship.
  • Physical fitness and dexterity to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and interact with customers.
  • Safety-conscious and committed to following safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in rigging installation and adjustments.
  • Physical ability to work in outdoor and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot rigging issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the marine industry.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
